“Escapism” Art Exhibition // 6:00pm-9:00pm

Friday, March 3rd, 6pm-9pm &CO X Rita Jimenez Collab

The show “Escapism” aims to explore the notion of escaping into a work of art from the perspective of an artist. By definition, escapism is a “mental diversion of the boring or unpleasant aspects of daily life.” For artists, this can mean a release into the makings of their own work. It can also mean the intention of the artist to have the viewer experience an escape, or transport into another world, another state of being, or just away from reality itself. The show will consist of a selection of artists whose work deals with escapism in one form or another; a collection of paintings, sculpture, photography, and video. Fantastical and imaginative scenes, surreal yet inviting dreamscapes, raw and emotional expressions, are just a few of themes to be exhibited. -Rita Jimenez
