Getting Around Jersey City

Part of the fun of JC Fridays is visiting several events all over the city in one night. This page includes information and helpful tips about getting around Jersey City. Each event listing will include parking information and special transportation instructions.

We encourage you to use the digital event map to plan your night out!

Public Transportation

Jersey City has a robust network of public transportation options, including New Jersey Transit Buses, PATH Train, Hudson Bergen Light Rail, and NY Waterway Ferry.

Download on Apple App Store or Google Play https://transitapp.com/

Via Jersey City is an on-demand, dynamically routed, mobile-app powered shuttle service in partnership with Jersey City, NJ. The service is open to all residents, workers, and visitors to Jersey City, and will get you from Point A to Point B anywhere in the service zone (rides that begin and end in the Downtown/Journal Square area are restricted).

Via Jersey City charges $2 per ride to get anywhere around the city, plus $0.50 per mile for rides outside of downtown. Your first two rides are free via coupon code “VIAINJC”. You can learn more or download the Via app here

Via is best for traveling to and from areas of Jersey City that have limited PATH, Light Rail and Bus service.
