EONTA SPACE

Over the course of three days, July 11-13th, 2025, Eonta Space hosted the Mural Project. With two lead artists and many friends, neighbors and fellow artists, the paper-lined space became acauldron of creativity. With ages ranging from 6 to 60+, people came and painted, drew and developed the space into a riotous full-on immersive paint experience. All materials were supplied.

CHRISTOPHER SEARS is a singer, composer, actor, painter and allround polymath. Last December he made his Broadway acting debutin ‘Cult of Love’ by Leslie Headland. Variety called his performance ‘ahoot’! His interests lie in all areas of creativity and the Mural Project was his idea. To cover the walls and create a community event where all are welcome.

LORETO ORECKINTO is a Chilean-American painter, muralist and street artist. Her day job involves hanging onto the sides of tall buildings and painting murals. Her personal mural work blends vibrant color palettes with symbolic storytelling. With over 30 mural projects completed, Loreto brings her own brand of social justice and boundless energy to the public at large.

For the September JC Fridays, Eonta Space will showcase the results of the Mural Project. Alongside a program of music and dance, the September 12-14th weekend will be a continuation of this creative journey. At the end of the weekend on Sunday, September 14th the murals will be taken down, divided and distributed to the participants and the public. A voluntary donation to charity would be appreciated inexchange for each section of the work.
