Project Greenville, a small community arts venue on Winfield Avenue in the Greenville section of Jersey City, has provided an intimate space to the community to gather for art shows, live music, poetry readings, neighborhood raffles, live demonstrations and more. The primary, two-fold, goal of Project Greenville is to:

  1. Create one more reason for those outside of the Greenville area to come and explore it for themselves rather than allowing negative press to dominate their opinion of the neighborhood and

  2. Giving the community a free venue to explore art, music and more while connecting with neighbors, local artists and businesses as well as organizations throughout Jersey City conveniently; without having to leave their own neighborhood. Meet their main organizer Elizabeth Deegan and hear about what's next for Project Greenville and how you can get involved!

I especially love the two-fold mission — inviting people from outside the area to experience Greenville for themselves, while also giving residents a free and accessible venue to connect and celebrate creativity. Meeting organizer Elizabeth Deegan and learning about the future of Project Greenville sounds like a great opportunity to get involved and support something impactful.

Community-driven projects like this show how powerful local engagement can be — whether it’s gathering for live poetry or even bonding over shared interests like subway surfers, it’s all about connection and creating positive experiences together.
