Evening Star Studio presents the exhibition, Dreaming of Me, showcasing ceramic works by eight artists exploring dreams, fantasies and nightmares. The sculptures in the exhibition explore identity and narrative through dreaming. Dreams of sweetness and of dread act to fuel our imagination of self. Our most extreme horrors and immeasurable love can manifest in dreams. These eight artists illustrate through ceramic objects the wishes, magical creatures, fantasies and stories that help shape our ambitions. Dreams can turn dread and fear into caution and the gruesome into light. Dreams have the power to shape us, to serve as cautionary tales, to mirror our anxieties, to fuel courage and to create space for the impossible. As much as nightmares can rehash fear they can conjure joy. Through whimsy, the familiar, the magical and the dreadful we can find ourselves and the complexity of us in dreaming.
