When Frontline Papers began in 2011, the young veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan invited veterans of all eras to join them.

Coming together to DECONSTRUCT U.S. Military Uniforms, RECLAIM them as paper and COMMUNICATE our stories through art, willing and able, Vietnam veterans arrived.

That is where the last act of Jim Fallon's well-lived life began. A Vietnam combat medic, jazz drummer, club owner, bartender and union rep in New York and California, VA case officer and veteran anti-war activist, Jim had a treasure trove of stories to tell.

Relief printing and painting his war, musician heroes, the city he loved and the natural world, he covered our paper with passionate colors. His work emanates courage and the joy of life he leaves us with, even as we grieve his loss.

Fair winds and following seas, our Good Friend. Walter Nygard
