Friday, June 5th, 4:00pm-6:00pm

Evening Star Studio presents, Reading Rainbow an exhibition of ceramics that explore the history of books, written messages of hope and resistance, book bans, use of language and text in art and in community. In this frustrating and precarious political moment we are left searching for ways forward into humanity, care and compassion. The works in this exhibition look to explore how the intersection of writing and ceramics can hold messages of resistance and rage, love and hope. The artworks in Reading Rainbow remind us of a childhood magic and power in books and community that grows into a collective demand for better. The ceramic books, pages and text in the exhibition ask the viewer to celebrate books and each other in an effort to reclaim history and imagine a future for ourselves of collective well being and knowledge. We are butterflies in the sky. aCrowsFeet, aCowsTail, Doris Cacoilo, Nicole Corvi, Beth DiCara, Jaz Graf, Karen Leo, Winifred McNeill, Melisa of MWY Pottery, Arkady Thompson, Chang Zhou
