This group exhibition explores motherhood as a transformative, creative, and regenerative experience.
Motherhood is often framed solely as caregiving, leaving little room for the emotional complexity, identity shifts, and creative rebirth that accompany it. This exhibition offers space for mothers to reflect on who they were, who they are becoming, and how creativity can act as a tool for healing, connection, and self-expression.
Presented in a public library setting, the exhibition is designed to be accessible, family-friendly, and reflective of the diverse experiences
Themes :
1. Emergence & Fertility
Artists explore ideas of growth, birth, potential, and cycles—both literal and symbolic. Works may reflect physical fertility, creative fertility, or the emotional labor involved in nurturing new life and ideas.
2. Grief of the Former Self
Many mothers experience a quiet grief for their pre-motherhood identity. This section honors that loss without judgment, allowing artists to acknowledge change, exhaustion, sacrifice, and transformation.
3. Rejuvenation & Reclamation
This theme centers on renewal—mothers reclaiming their creative voice, personal agency, and sense of self. The artwork highlights resilience, empowerment, and the act of choosing creativity alongside caregiving.
Lastly, during the exhibition visitors can participate in a unique element of this exhibition where collaborative artwork is created by mothers and their children
