Join us at Gallery 14C for the show: "Under the Influence – artists inspired by other artists", on December 5th from 6 to 9 pm. Artists draw inspiration from everything, including one another. Almost every artist has had the experience of visiting a studio, gallery or museum, seeing a work of art and feeling motivated to make their own art – and that’s what we want to see for this exhibition, the result of that inspiration: something wholly original yet demonstrably influenced by another work.‘Under the Influence’ celebrates the journey from admiration to creation, showing the interconnectedness of artistic expression. The inspiration can be overt and obvious, or it can be subtle and barely discernable. We are not looking for copies or homages – we are looking for original work that was sparked by another artist or artwork.
