Friday, June 2nd, 6pm-10pm Pop-Up Art Fair
Pop-Up Art Fair is excited to present our upcoming Pop-Up Gallery show, Textures. This free event is a part of #JCFridays and is hosted by LastPlaceWinners—a destination for Jersey City creatives and appreciators of the arts and fashion.
Textures is an art show centering on Black women working in or around the concept of Blackness and Black women’s hair. Five Black women are featured who created work focused on their own features. See works from: Joanna Bellamy Jordan, MFA (@jobelldesigns), Nyiesha Mallett (@nyiesha_mallett), Nylah Hindsman (@black_n_bored_gallery), Phoebe Dupont (@_newalias), and Tionna Watson (@nyasias.gallery).
In a world filled with erasure that takes Black women for granted, we place them front and center this Friday, June 2nd. Come engage, converse, and learn their stories. But remember, don’t touch the hair
