Arts at St. Paul & Incarnation: Readings by Local Writers

Updated: Sep 8, 2021

September 10, 7pm-9pm

Readings from Emily Croy Barker's new novel "How To Talk To A Goddess" and Mary Fan's "A Girl Called Firedragon".

Jersey City's own Emily Croy Barker is a writer and editor. By day, she covers lawyers as an in-house editor at a large legal organization. At night and on weekends, she gets to write about magicians. Clever, lush, and riveting, Emily Croy Barker's new novel opens a portal into a brilliantly realized world of enchantment, love, and danger.

Mary Fan is a sci-fi/fantasy writer who also hails from Jersey City, NJ. She is the author of the Jane Colt sci-fi series, (Red Adept Publishing), the Starswept YA sci-fi series, (Snowy Wings Publishing), the Flynn Nightsider YA dark fantasy series (Crazy 8 Press), and Stronger Than a Bronze Dragon, a YA steampunk fantasy (Page Street Publishing). She is also the editor of Bad Ass Moms, an anthology from Crazy 8 Press. Join us in the garden on Friday, September 10 at 7pm for readings from Barker's new novel, "How To Talk To A Goddess And Other Lessons In Real Magic" and Mary Fan's "A Girl Called Firedragon".
